    Before starting Blue Mountain Psychiatry, Muhamad Aly Rifai served for six years as the Avicenna Endowed Chair of Psychiatric Medicine and for three years as a medical director in psychiatry at Easton Hospital, a Steward Health Care facility in Easton, Pennsylvania. As the medical director of the adult unit, he was in charge of 16 beds and focused on improving patients' quality of life.

     

    Previously, I held a contract position at DeSales University as a clinical professor of psychiatry. He monitored students who wanted to become physician assistants and psychiatric nurse practitioners in this role.

     

    From June 2007 until June 2020, he also worked as an adjunct professor of medicine and psychiatry at Drexel University.

     

    A chief medical officer post at Allentown's New Vitae Wellness and Recovery as well as a clinical professorship for psychiatry and medicine were among the notable roles held throughout a seven-year span.

     

    Academic History Rifai started attending American International College, where in September 1990 he graduated with honors and a higher national diploma. Later, he studied in Aleppo University, where he graduated with a medical degree.

     

    Between 1996 to 1998, Muhamad Aly Rifai completed the psychopharmacology program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. In 2012, he attended a Discovery Channel Media Boot Camp at Harvard University, and in 2017, he enrolled in Carnegie Mellon University's Masters of Medical Management program.

     

    Rifai finished his residency at the Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia, where he also studied psychiatry and internal medicine. He also held the position of head resident at the University of Virginia in Roanoke from July 2001 to June 2003. The chief resident of the facility was in charge of internal medicine, psychiatry, and medicine and psychiatry. He also won an award for distinguished research as a student at the college.

    Rifai has been an American Psychiatric Association life fellow for more than 24 years. Since May 2000, he has served as the association's Janssen Scholar for severe mental disease research and education.

     

    He also held the positions of immediate past president and counselor for the Lehigh Valley Psychiatric Society of the Pennsylvania Psychological Society. He has studied the connection between Hepatitis C and mental illness, and he oversaw the program's course offerings from May 2006 to May 2009.

    With the Lehigh Valley Psychiatric Society, Muhamad Aly Rifai has served in a variety of capacities throughout the years, including treasurer, president-elect, and board member. He is now the organization's recently departed president.

     

    From May 2004 to May 2006, he represented the Middle Atlantic (Area 3) of the American Psychological Association as a member-in-training.

     

    From 2003 to 2005, he worked as a deputy representative to the assembly region and a member-in-training for the Washington Psychiatric Society.

    The Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society presented Rifai with their leadership honor in 2013.

     

    Between January 1997 to June 1998, Muhamad Aly Rifai was a medical lecturer at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and was the recipient of a National Research Service Award in Psychopharmacology.
